The Dignity Project

The Dignity Project

The Dignity Project supports our young girls at the school and the surrounding community.

The provision of disposable sanitary wear is expensive and so often young girls have to resort to drastic measures to be in school whilst trying to maintain their dignity and often resorting to practices that are unhygienic.

Reusable sanitary wear is game changing for them and allows them to go to school without the fear and worry of that time of the month and to be much more in control during their period,

All our women and students learn how to make reusable sanitary wear and these packs of pads are donated to young girls in our community and the surrounding areas.

Within our sewing shop we are also piloting a project to sell pack of pads wholesale to raise additional funds that will pay for the donated pad material.

Such a small pad, such a huge impact.

Here from Nikki and Rose as they discuss the impact of The Dignity Project for young girls in Uganda.
